Established in 1972, The Port Alberni Shelter Society (PASS) is a multi-service charitable organization that provides housing, services and support to those experiencing homelessness or most at-risk.
PASS operates a therapeutic recovery community (TRC) for women, an emergency shelter, supportive housing, family housing, a sobering site, a harm reduction facility, a local vegetable farm(Shelter Farm) and provides clothing, nutritious meals, career training and other services.
OUR PURPOSE
The purpose of our organization is to act as a gateway to stable housing and supportive services.
Our organization serves as a link to help people reconnect with community agencies and supportive services. By offering temporary shelter, food and gateway services, we assist residents in their efforts to becoming more self-sufficient and help them move towards independence and long-term sustainable housing.
