Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
ACT is a mental health program that focuses on individual clients and their recovery. The program facilitates community living, psychosocial rehabilitation, and recovery for persons who have the most serious mental illnesses.

Alberni Valley Employment Centre
Offers all unemployed people access to self-serve resources, including information on employment opportunities, the use of computers, fax machines, photocopiers and telephones for job search activities. They also offer group based workshops on topics related to preparing for, finding, obtaining and maintaining employment, as well as access to training and apprenticeship supports, wage subsidy and self-employment services. Offices are located in Port Alberni, Tofino and Ucluelet.

BC Income Assistance Self Serve
My Self Serve (MySS) provides online access to income and disability assistance for residents of British Columbia. If you are not currently in receipt of income or disability assistance, My Self Serve will guide you through the application for assistance. If you need help with your application contact the ministry at 1-866-866-0800.

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) – Port Alberni Branch
The CMHA offers rehabilitation, a daily lunch program, transitional and supported employment and social and recreational activities for people with mental illness. They also offer services and programs for youth, seniors and individual advocacy for Income Assistance and Disability applications, Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and CCP Disability applications, Old Age Security (OAS) pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) applications and matters such as appeals and residential tenancy issues.

First Nation Health Authority
FNHA is responsible for planning, designing, managing and funding the delivery of First Nations health programs across British Columbia. They offer a variety of supports and services for individuals and families.

Friendship Centre – Port Alberni
The Port Alberni Friendship centre provides services to Urban Aboriginals including counselling, recreational programs, youth employment training, legal advocacy, public health services, social events, crafts and cultural events. Homelessness Service Assoc of BC
A network of groups who provide shelters for people in BC. Publishes an online list of shelters available for women, men and youth in BC.

INEO
INEO Employment Services facilitates several programs, workshops and one-to-one sessions with an employment coach to support individuals in creating an environment where positive change is doable, affordable, and sustainable.

Island Health
Island Health provides health care services through a network of hospitals, clinics, centres, health units, and long-term care locations. They offer a variety of mental health and substance abuse programs and provide referrals.

Nuuchahnulth Tribal Council-NTC
Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) is a not-for-profit society that provides a wide variety of services and supports to fourteen Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations with approximately 10,000 members.

Sage Haven Society (Formerly known as ACAWS)
Offers housing, counselling, support and other services for individuals and families impacted by relationship violence. Sage Haven also operates a drop in centre where individuals can find self-care supplies, internet, computer and phone services. Call 250-736-0705.

Salvation Army Alberni Valley
The Salvation Army is a faith-based organization that offers a variety of services including food and meal distribution, hygiene products, thrift store vouchers, programs for children, support for seniors and relief for those impacted by emergencies. They host services each Sunday and offer emotional and spiritual care to everyone without discrimination.

SPARC BC

The Recovery Village
The Recovery Village Drug and Alcohol Rehab delivers comprehensive treatment services for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. With locations across the country, The Recovery Village Drug and Alcohol Rehab offers patients a full continuum of care, including medical detox, residential services and outpatient programs.
