Our peak growing season is finally winding down, and it was busy spring and summer! Below are a few recent highlights from Shelter Farm:
– Staff changes. In early 2022, Shelter Farm said goodbye to it’s creator and first Farm Manager, Guy Langlois. We’d like to wish Guy a very happy retirement and thank him for all he has contributed. Special welcome to new farm manager, Claire Gendron.
– Veggie box program a huge success. We would like to extend a big thank you to all of our 2022 CSA members for making our weekly veggie box program such a huge success! Stay tuned for announcements on our 2023 CSA program.
– NEW online store coming soon. Very soon, Shelter Farm will be opening an online store, providing another way to purchase our farm fresh produce. We will have one-mid week pick up location in the off season, starting soon and two pick up times and locations in the main season starting in 2023.
– Thank you to our partners. Shelter Farm had another great season working with INEO Employment to deliver the Peer Employment Program, a low-barrier employment program for folks (at risk of and) experiencing homelessness. We would also like to acknowledge North Island College – for the fourth season in a row – who helped deliver our low-barrier Farming and Cooking Programs.
