A Therapeutic Recovery Community (TRC) is a treatment model designed to provide comprehensive support and assistance to individuals recovering from addiction. TRCs offer a structured and therapeutic environment where individuals can focus on their recovery and develop the skills necessary to maintain long-term sobriety.

What’s the difference between TRC & other recovery models?

TRCs typically offer a more intensive and longer-term treatment option compared to regular recovery options. They often include residential programs where individuals live on-site for an extended period, ranging from several weeks to several months or even years. This allows for an immersive and focused treatment in a supportive environment.

TRCs provide a range of services that address various aspects of addiction, including counseling, therapy, skills training, employment opportunities, education programs and aftercare support. All programs aim to address the physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of addiction while equipping individuals with the necessary tools for long-term sobriety.

Additionally, TRCs offer a highly structured environment that promotes stability, routine and accountability. These centres often have a set schedule, including therapy sessions, group activities and daily responsibilities. This structured environment helps individuals establish healthy habits, new routines and life skills that can reduce the risk of relapse. Peer support and community building is also emphasized.

PASS is proud to offer Port Alberni’s first TRC centre for women!

Please note that the effectiveness of addiction recovery options can vary depending on individual needs and preferences.
